Let Go

Fingers closed tightly on my dreams
I never wanted to let them go
Never wanted them to leave
Until You whispered in my ear
And told me “It’s gonna be okay.”
So I slowly opened my fingers
And let them go today
It hurt a little, then a lot
Knowing I may not get what I want
The sting was painful, but I could see
You have a perfect plan for me
You took my hand and led me on
You’ll never let me go and I’ll keep you number one
I’ll hold you close and give You my dreams
Although it’s harder than it seems
I’ll learn to let go everyday
Knowing that you have already paved my way
